Volunteers needed for Watford Poppy appeal
Collectors are urgently needed in Watford to volunteer their time for this year’s Remembrance Day Poppy Appeal.
The appeal is organised in the town by John Hodson, Olive Bovingdon and Dave Schoorl with support from the Chorleywood, North Bushey and Croxley Green Royal British Legion branches.
Community Fundraiser for Hertfordshire, Natasha Robertson, said: "People in Watford are always so supportive and do dig deep for us.
"During our collections we always have a great sense of reward as people always have a soft spot for the Poppy Appeal and our cause. The collections are dependent on a team of volunteers and without enough helpers we won’t be able to have a successful Poppy Appeal in the area.
"This would be such a shame. We always need more collectors to cover some of the sites in the town. Sites include the intu shopping centre, town centre, Watford Junction, Croxley Green station, Sainsburys, Asda, and Tesco supermarkets."
The Poppy Collections are taking place between Saturday, October 26, and Saturday, November 9.
Volunteers can contact Natasha on 01279 758220 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
