Loud music costs noisy neighbour Timothy Hardwidge in Bushey £520
A noisy neighbour was ordered to pay £520 at Watford Magistrates' Court on Friday.
Timothy Hardwidge, of Mead Way, in Bushey, had his music equipment seized by Bushey Safer Neighbourhood Team officers working with Hertsmere Borough Council’s Environmental Health officers in June following complaints from residents.
The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to two charges of failing to comply with a noise abatement order and was fined £150 and £200 for each charge, ordered to pay costs of £150 and a victim surcharge of £20.
A forfeiture order was granted for the equipment seized, which included 10 loud speakers and a large TV.
Bushey, Radlett and Elstree Neighbourhood Sergeant, Noel Buckley, said: "No-one should have to live like this.
"We received calls about the ongoing anti-social behaviour and worked with Environmental Health officers from Hertsmere Borough Council and Aldwych Housing Association.
"We are pleased that Timothy Hardwidge has been fined and we hope it reassures Mead Way residents that with their help, we can, and we will take action."
