Narcolepsy conference to be held in Watford
11:30am Friday 30th August 2013 in News
The Narcolepsy UK 2013 "Getting to Know You" conference will be held at The Park Inn Hotel, St Albans Road, Watford, on Saturday, September 14.
The Getting to Know You title refers not only to people meeting one another at the annual event but also getting to know the condition of narcolepsy.
Delegates will hear from professional speakers as well as from fellow narcolepsy sufferers, sharing the trials and tribulations in their lives but also focusing on the success stories people have enjoyed.
There will also be a special exhibition to showcase the art and crafts of people suffering with narcolepsy.
Narcolepsy is a sleep disorder which affects the brains' ability to regulate the normal sleep-wake cycle.
This can lead to symptoms such as disturbed night-time sleep and excessive sleepiness throughout the day. In the UK it affects 31,000 people. It is an auto immune disease and it has no cure.
With people travelling from across the UK and Ireland to the event we look forward to raising awareness of narcolepsy.
