The team of nurses, doctors and other staff who run the children’s ward at Watford General Hospital have teamed up to launch the second ever ‘Light up the Lighthouse Ball’, on behalf on West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
The event, which is organised in partnership with the Hilton Hotel Watford, aims to help fund additional facilities and equipment for the ward, including new toys and televisions.
Jane Pirie, paediatric administrator for the Trust said: "Starfish ward treats hundreds of children each year and we’re committed to making sure our youngest and oldest patients get the best possible care.
"The ‘Light up the Lighthouse Appeal’ was launched last year and the first ever ‘Light up the Lighthouse Ball’ was a huge success.
"So far, the appeal has raised just over £20,000 for equipment for the ward’s high dependency unit.
"We’re committed to raising more and we’d love it if as many local people as possible could join us for this year’s ball. We promise a fun-filled night, with great food, music and much more."
The ball is set to take place On Friday, September 13 at the Hilton Hotel in Watford at 7.00pm.
