Garston Manor School rebuild plans are approved by Watford Borough Council
A Garston school has been granted permission for a complete rebuild.
The school, which caters for 120 students with special educational needs, is one of 42 schools being rebuilt as part of the Government’s Priority Schools Building Programme.
The school is due to undergo a complete rebuild and a new building will be constructed first to allow the school to function while the project is underway.
There is no proposed increase in the number of pupils as part of the rebuild.
Planning officials had warned councillors there could technically be grounds to object to the construction as the school is in the Green Belt.
However they said the benefit from a new school would override such concerns and recommended politicians to approve the new buildings.
