Watford Rotary Club's charity strawberry tea for for Signpost a sweet success
More than 40 people took advantage of the recent sunny weather to help raise cash for a Watford charity, which helps troubled youngsters.
Watford Rotary Club raised £650 for Signpost with a Strawberry Afternoon Tea in the garden of Watford Rotary President Sue Clark.
At the event people enjoyed a spread of sandwiches, scones and cakes rounded off by a dish of strawberries and cream and accompanied by live piano jazz.
Rayna Shock, a trustee of Signpost, which provides counselling services for young people, said: "It was a wonderful afternoon and the money raised will be a great help in our work. In our fortieth anniversary year we are trying to ensure that every young person in the area knows we exist and are there to help if they need us".
