Leisure centre goers back Herts Air Ambulance's Save Old Soles campaign
More than a hundred pairs of trainers have been donated to the Herts Air Ambulance through the service’s Save Old Soles campaign.
Bushey Grove Leisure Centre customers are among those who have donated 111 pairs of trainers to the cause, along with other Hertsmere Leisure sites.
The trainers were donated by customers who took out a Beaumonts membership as part of the recent Trade Your Trainers campaign exchanging them for two week’s free gym membership as well as a Beaumonts Bag for Life. There were also donations from customers who were happy to pass on their unwanted trainers.
The centre presented the trainers to Tony Newsome, a Herts Air Ambulance volunteer.
The Save Old Soles campaign allows the charity to receive a percentage of the sale of the recycled materials.
Paul Toomey, area manager, said: "We have had a fantastic response from customers to this campaign and we are delighted to be helping the Herts Air Ambulance in this way."
