Enjoy poetry and percussion at Watford New Hope Trust's garden open day
Watford New Hope Trust (WNHT) will be holding a charity garden open day later this month.
The charity, which helps homeless and vulnerably-housed people, will open its Community Market Garden to the public on Saturday, September 28 from 10am until 3pm.
The open day takes place twice a year, giving residents the chance to visit the garden.
The garden offers WNHT’s service users the opportunity to rebuild their confidence and develop new and existing skills through pursuing their own creative or gardening projects.
The event will take place at the Community Market Garden, in Rickmansworth Road, and the last open day in May raised nearly £1,500.
Plants and refreshments will be available, in exchange for a donation, and there is a programme of apple-themed activities throughout the day, such as storytelling, poetry readings, a performance from WNHT’s Garden Jamming percussion group, and craft activities.
There will also be a Harvest stand. Visitors are encouraged to bring their Harvest donations, such as coffee, sugar or toiletries.
