RES Group staff in Kings Langley to get on their bikes for Cycle to Work Day
Staff at the renewable energy development company RES Group of Beaufort Court, Kings Langley, are taking part in a cycle to work day on Thursday.
The day aims to encourage staff to improve their health and wellbeing through not only increased exercise, but also by saving on their travel expenses.
RES staff who take part will learn the benefits of cycling to work, which include a reduction in vehicles on the road that reduces congestion, air pollution and CO² emissions and a more active, healthier lifestyle.
As a green company, RES supports its staff to cycle to work by paying 20p for every mile travelled to work by bicycle.
Head of Communications and Marketing, Simon Reader, said: "It will be a nice change cycling to work on Thursday and if it’s more enjoyable than sitting in traffic every morning, I may cycle to work on a weekly basis."
All cyclists will get a free breakfast when they arrive at work. There will also be a "Dr Bike" session where cyclists will have the opportunity to have their bike serviced and checked over by a professionally trained cycle mechanic.
Employees without a bicycle have no excuse for not participating as RES is providing bikes - including an electric bike - which they can borrow on the day.
