The newly refurbished Tesco Extra in Lower High Street, Watford, has made a £500 donation to Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education (CSE) Trust.
Neil Hart, Head of Community Development, collected the cheque this week from Tesco Store Manager Daniel McHale and Community Champion Jane Ross.
The Watford FC CSE Trust aims to promote sport and learning opportunities to the wider community and currently runs programmes that look to increase confidence and build self-esteem through the delivery of sporting activity.
Neil said: "The trust is a self-financing charity reliant on grants, donations and sponsorship so this donation of £500 from Tesco is much appreciated and will be put to good use in our continued commitment to serving the Watford Community"
The trust plan to use the donation to help provide positive activities for disadvantaged young people in the Watford area.
Daniel added: "It has been a pleasure to hear how our donation will support their future plans. It is very important to us as a store that we are able to build and maintain strong relationships with the local community and my colleagues and I are delighted to provide a donation to the Watford FC CSE Trust."
