Fun for families at Watford Community Housing Trust’s annual fun day
Hundreds are expected to flock to Leavesden Green on Saturday for Watford Community Housing Trust’s fun day.
The event, which takes place at the recreation ground off Clarke Way from noon until 4pm, is being held to promote voluntary groups and charities in Watford and Three Rivers. It will also mark the opening of Leavesden Green Community Hub which has been refurbished by the trust.
The event will feature family activities, fairground rides and live entertainment. Wheelchair Dance Sport Association, young people’s charity First Rung and Timebank will all be taking part - plus many other community groups from the area.
The event will also include the Community Champion Awards 2013, where the trust will celebrate local unsung heroes.
Visitors from outside Leavesden Green can use the free Park and Ride service from Asda at the Dome roundabout, which has been provided by Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden.
There will be parking restrictions in parts of Clarke Way and some of the surrounding roads to prevent extra traffic in the area. The park and ride will run from 10.30am and can also be used for the trust’s annual meeting, which will be taking place in the Community Hub before Watford 2013 starts.
Tina Barnard, Trust Chief Executive, said: "Watford 2013 is not only a day of fun for all the community, it’s also a valuable chance for local groups to promote their services, raise funds and find new volunteers. We are looking forward to fantastic day."
