Royal Masonic School for Girls pupils don period dress in school Regency day
Rickmansworth pupils wore period dresses, bonnets and silk gloves when their school held a Regency Day last Friday.
The Royal Masonic School for Girls (RMS), in Rickmansworth Park, put on the unique period event in honour of Chevalier Ruspini, the founder of the school, and of The Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys (RMTGB), a national children’s charity.
In celebration of the day, pupils and staff dressed up in Regency style clothes and took part in a range of activities typical of the time.
Throughout the day, RMS girls aged between two and 18 made hats and fans, danced around the maypole, arranged flowers, stitched samplers, practised calligraphy and anatomical drawing and played games such as croquet.
