Watford FC defender Lloyd Doyley thrilled young students when he visited Abbots Langley Primary School's new library bus.
Fans' favourite Doyley told them about his career as a professional footballer and his experiences playing for the Hornets.
The visit was the latest event to mark the opening of the library bus at the beginning of this school term.
Volunteer parents, staff and pupils all hand a hand in painting the old bus and converting it into a library and study area.
Doyley was shown around the bus by Year 6 pupils and was then joined by the entire school for a question and answer session.
Headteacher Roger Billing said Doyley was "brilliant" with the children.
