University of the Third Age exhibitors showcase art works at intu Watford
Building on the success of its past exhibitions, for the fourth year running the University of the Third Age hosted an Art Exhibition in Watford’s intu centre.
Members of the U3A Art Group, based at the Pump House in the Art Resources Centre, are the original driving force behind this annual event.
In total there were 35 exhibitors representing Watford, Bushey, Croxley Green and Rickmansworth during September.
Barbara Woolner, U3A member, said: "Our September Exhibition was the fourth year of exhibiting in the Upper Gallery at intu and it is the best yet. Visitors commented that it was wonderful and refreshing and proved once again that we old dogs do not need to learn new tricks. On the final count we recorded a footfall of 1281, and we sold 14 art works at a total value of £645."
Laura Gauer, a new exhibitor from Watford Park, successfully sold two pieces of art work.
The exhibition was opened by Councillor Steve Racket, Chairman of Watford Borough Council and refreshments were laid on by members of the Pump House Art Resources Centre group.
