Politics comes to life for Bedmond Village Primary and Nursery School pupils after St Albans MP Anne Main's lesson
A member of parliament visited a Bedmond primary school to engage the youngsters in a debate earlier this week.
St Albans MP, Anne Main, was at Bedmond Village Primary and Nursery School, in Meadow Way, on Wednesday.
Deputy head teacher, Annie Schafheitle, said the pupils found the experience very engaging and it really helped bring politics to life for them She added: "The children really enjoyed the session with Mrs Main, especially finding out about how MPs call for calm during a debate.
"They learned about how to create a persuasive argument and ask pertinent questions to help clarify opinion."
The Year 5 and Year 6 teacher said some of the children have even decided to become members of parliament when they are older.
