Historian Ted Parrish's book, Echoes of Old Watford, Bushey and Oxhey, to be launched at Watford Museum
A book written by a local historian and filmmaker about the history of Watford, Bushey and Oxhey will be launched at Watford museum.
The author of Echoes of Old Watford, Bushey and Oxhey, Ted Parrish, was a well-respected local historian and filmmaker who documented the many changes to the fabric of life in the area in word and film through the decades.
In the book, Mr Parrish reflects on what it was really like to live in south west Hertfordshire and recalls his childhood memories of a barnstorming flying circus at Leggatt’s Farm in the 1920s, Bricket Wood fair in its heyday, magic lantern shows in Oxhey and a garden party in sculptress Mary Bromet’s garden.
The book launch will take place at Watford Museum, in Lower High Street, on Thursday, October 17 from 6pm to 8pm.
The book will be available to buy from the Watford Museum from October 18.
