A 'fantastic atmosphere' as TV chef and presenter Simon Rimmer cooks for Tesco customers in Watford
TV chef Simon Rimmer cooked up a storm at a Watford superstore as it continued its makeover celebrations.
Cooking in-house at the Watford Tesco Extra store on Saturday, the award-winning chef served up a variety of dishes created exclusively for Tesco customers.
Customers at the store, in Lower High Street, watched Simon at work as he talked through the recipes, which included Baked Cuban Spiced Chicken with Rice, Beef and Onion Pie with Cream Cheese Pastry and Sea Bass with Potato Rosti.
The Sunday Brunch co-host, who has also written seven books, said: "I have really enjoyed cooking live and being able to talk about food with customers.
"It’s great to see so many shoppers passionate and interested in creating simple, good food at home and I hope many of them will go away and try the recipes themselves."
Store Manager Daniel McHale said: "To have Simon Rimmer cooking live in store for our customers has been brilliant. There was a fantastic atmosphere in store all day and demonstrations were really busy and generated lots of interest from customers who wanted to know more about the dishes and meet a top-notch chef."
The cookery event was part of a series of free activities taking place in store to celebrate its new-look which was unveiled last month.
