Unpaid work for Carpenders Park benefit cheat Paulo Gomez-Sanchez
A man from Carpenders Park has been ordered to do unpaid work after admitting claiming almost £1,000 in housing benefit he was not entitled to.
Paulo Gomez-Sanchez was paid £930.71 relating to a property in St Albans Road, Watford, while failing to disclose he jointly owned a property in Oulton Way, Carpenders Park.
After the information emerged the 34-year-old was prosecuted by Watford Borough Council and appeared in St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Monday where he admitted failing to disclose his true circumstances.
He was sentenced to a 12 month community order with 40 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £30 prosecution costs as well the benefits he falsely claimed.
