Hertfordshire to mark World Mental Health Day
A day to raise awareness of mental health takes place next week.
Thursday will mark World Mental Health Day - a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy.
Around one in four people are said to be affected by a mental health problem in any given year, but are often reluctant to discuss their problems and don’t always know where to turn for help. The aim of World Mental Health Day is to get people talking openly about mental health and the treatments and preventative measures that are available.
To encourage this, the Hertfordshire County Council, NHS and voluntary groups have arranged events and activities around the county. Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust offer rapid access, via self referral or your GP, to a range of short term interventions.
If you would like help from the service, you can either ask your GP to make a referral, or you can self-refer by ringing 0300 777 0707.
