Model village donation from Barratt Homes North London inspires Abbots Langley Primary School children
Reception pupils in Abbots Langley were made to feel like giants this month as a local house developer donated a model village to their school.
Barratt Homes North London, donated the architectural model of a new homes development, to Abbots Langley Primary School.
The model village depicts the Merchant Taylors Place development in miniature and shows in detail, each window and door on every house, grass lawns and trees, as well as tiny cars making imaginary journeys to and from home.
Originally commissioned to showcase family homes to prospective buyers, the model is now being used to educate and entertain reception pupils at the school.
Mrs Negrello, Deputy Head at Abbots Langley School said: "We would like to say a massive thank you to Barratt Homes for donating such a fantastic model village for our reception children to work with. They love it."
Karly Williams, Head of Sales at Barratt Homes North London added: "Barratt Homes North London has a great deal of involvement with local schools through our Education Programme. The scheme helps to provide educational experiences for pupils to learn from all aspects of construction, locally.
"By donating the model of Merchant Taylors Place to the pupils at Abbots Langley School, we hope the pupils will have fun exploring the homes and gardens carefully crafted onto the model from a totally new perspective. We hope to inspire pupils and who knows, we might even find ourselves a new architect in the a few years’ time who was once a pupil from Abbots Langley School."
