Watford FC fan Georgie Adams is ball girl at Buckingham Palace football match to mark 150th anniversary of Football Association
A schoolgirl from Watford was ball girl during an historic football match played in the grounds of Buckingham Palace yesterday to mark the 150th anniversary of the Football Association.
Football crazy 16-year-old Georgie Adams, a season ticket holder at Watford FC, was chosen to take part in the special commemorative match between the Civil Service and Polytechnic FC.
Civil Service, the only surviving team of 11 that formed the FA on October 26 1863, lost 2-1 to Polytechnic, a side established in 1875.
The game was watched by FA President Prince William the Duke of Cambridge who warned the players before the game, "if anyone breaks a window they will have to answer to granny".
Before the game Georgie, who attends Watford Grammar School for Girls, got to mingle with the players and after the match she posed for that priceless picture with Prince William.
