Watford Grammar School for Boys 'truly proud' of thousands raised for Watford Mencap and Watford New Hope Trust
Students at Watford Grammar School for Boys raised £11,548 after clocking up 1800 hours of fundraising activity over one year for charity.
Over 1,300 students took park in the yearlong fundraising effort with a range of activities including mufti days, teachers' karaoke, a Take Me Out-style event with Watford Grammar School for Girls, and a variety of other sponsored events.
The school today presented cheques to Watford Mencap and Watford New Hope Trust. Receiving the donations were Wil Berdinner from Watford New Hope Trust, Liz Hizli and Annette Timms from Watford Mencap.
Commenting on the success of the students Martin Post, Headmaster, said: "This is a remarkable achievement which involved the students using their own initiative, organising their own events and helping to raise a substantial amount of money for two charities that undertake remarkable work themselves.
"We are truly proud of everyone involved."
