Home-Start charity shop in Lord Street, Watford, set to reopen after revamp
A Watford charity shop has undergone a revamp and is set to be opened by the town’s elected mayor on Friday.
Home-Start, in Lord Street, is currently being refurbished with the assistance of some local businesses. John Lewis Brent Cross is overseeing the revamp with Watford Hilton Hotel helping paint the charity shop.
Emma Power, scheme manager, said: "Our wonderful shop volunteers are also using their skills in refurbishing the charity shop."
The refurbished charity shop will be launched and open to the public on Friday, October 11 between 1pm and 2pm.
Ms Power said: "Dorothy Thornhill is joining us to open the shop and as we are the Watford Sainsbury’s charity they will be providing us with Bucks Fizz and soft drinks to celebrate and delicious cup cakes."
She added: "We are waiting to see if a past footballer of the Watford club may be able to join in with the celebration."
