The Abbots Langley and Chorleywood Safer Neighbourhood Team are holding a crime prevention event at Abbots Langley Police Station next weekend.

The event is being held outside the station, in High Street, Abbots Langley, between 11am and 1pm on Saturday, October 19.

Visitors will have an opportunity to get crime prevention advice based on crimes occurring locally. There will also be the chance to get bikes and valuables, such as laptops and mobile phones, security-marked to prevent theft and enable officers to return items to their owners if they are ever stolen and recovered.

Residents will also be able to pick up anti-theft number plate kits which can prevent your number plate from being stolen.

PCSO John Diaz said: "We’d welcome people along to the event. Now the nights are drawing in we’ll be providing essential advice about how to secure your home to prevent burglary. It will also be a good opportunity to meet us and raise any concerns or issues you have about crime and anti-social behaviour."
