Celebrate Black History Month at Watford Community Housing Trust's event
A Watford housing association is holding an event to celebrate Black History Month next week.
Watford Community Housing Trust will be hosting an event at its Clarendon Road offices from 4.30pm on Thursday, October 24 to promote the positive contribution of black people to society.
The occasion is being supported by the Watford African Caribbean Association and there will be live music and singing from Phyllis Chase and friends, stories and poetry, as well as African Caribbean traditional snacks.
Susannah Brunert, Head of Communities at Watford Community Housing Trust, said: "The event will give an opportunity for staff and tenants to come together and to celebrate everyone’s contribution. We are really pleased to be joined by members of the Watford African Caribbean Association and we hope that everyone has a fun and rewarding time together.
"The trust is all about building stronger communities, and we are looking forward to learning more about the rich variety of experiences and history that contribute to our local culture and make Watford and Three Rivers such a friendly and vibrant place to live."
