Newly named Prince George pub, in St Albans Road, to host royal Christening party
A pub named after Prince George is set to host a christening party next week.
The Prince George, in St Albans Road, is holding the royal event to mark the christening of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's new baby on Wednesday, October 23 at 8.30pm.
Formerly known as The Sycamore, the pub was taken over by Terry Rigg in June this year. Mr Rigg said he wanted to change the name after the troubled history at the pub.
The owners celebrated after receiving a letter from St James’s Palace telling them The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were "touched" they had changed their name to The Prince George.
