Art on show at Newton Price Centre's final exhibition in Grosvenor Road
A final exhibition was held in the Newton Price Centre at the weekend before it is turned into school classrooms.
In January the centre, in Grosvenor Road, Watford, will be converted into four classrooms for Central Primary School as part of a £30.99 million expansion of schools in south west Hertfordshire.
The plans have been drawn up in response to a projected shortfall of primary school places across Hertfordshire.
The deficit of primary places in Watford will increase to 162 by September 2015, and Central Primary School will take on an extra 30 pupils each year.
The centre is currently rented out by community groups, for everything from line dancing to Tai Chi.
Virginia Gilmer hung 17 watercolour paintings in the centre on Saturday, for the final exhibition that will be held there.
