Firefighters strikes announced for next month
Two strikes are planned for firefighters next month.
The Fire Brigades Union announced today further strike dates for Friday, November 1 from 6.30pm-11pm and Monday, November 4 from 6am-11am.
Residents are being asked to take extra care during the strike action as there will be fewer firefighters on duty across south west Hertfordshire.
Councillor Richard Thake, cabinet member for community safety and planning, said: "We are disappointed that further strike action has been announced and it is important that people are vigilant and take extra care during the Fire Brigades Union strike.
"Although there will be fewer resources, we have planned for this and have put in place contingency plans. In the event that the strike action does go ahead we will be responding as quickly as possible to serious incidents.
"In the event of a fire you should still get out, stay out and call 999 - you will get an emergency response."
