A charity event in Watford next week will bring the beach to a bar in Watford town centre.

Macmillan Cancer Support is holding a beach party at Walkabout in The Parade from 8pm on Friday, November 8.

Tickets are £3 and all proceeds will be going to support Macmillan Cancer Support. The evening will be full of music and comedy acts including Tom Craven, The Nameless Three and Lauren Rich.

Last year in Watford, Macmillan awarded 28 Macmillan Grants totaling £8,013, these can be used for new clothing due to weight changes, new bedding due to night sweats or travel to and from hospitals for treatment.

The charity also provides many other medical services in the area and help cancer sufferers and their families through a SupportLine.

Hertfordshire Fundraising Manager Kerry said "Macmillan at the Beach will be a great event, the tickets are a bargain for such a wonderful event and to know you will be helping people living with cancer is of course a much added bonus.

"The fantastic Watford Fundraising Group are also looking for new members so if you would like to join this dynamic group or Macmillan supporters then please do get in touch."
