Around 250 people attended an "absolutely outstanding" Parade of Remembrance held at the Bushey War Memorial on Sunday.
The Royal British Legion Bushey Branch conducted the annual event with members of the cadet forces, cubs, scouts and guides on parade as well as members of the Royal British Legion and the general public.
Hertsmere MP James Clappison attended with the Mayor of Hertsmere and other local dignitaries.
After the two minutes silence had been observed, wreaths of poppies were laid and prayers were said by the vicar of St James's Church, Bushey, and the local Rabbi.
Des Kerrigan, chairman of the Royal British Legion in Bushey, said: "The day was absolutely outstanding.
"We had more people attend than usual which is pleasing - especially as more youngsters have been getting involved."
