Watford’s MP visited an Abbots Langley primary school to present the children’s council with their badges last week.

Conservative MP Richard Harrington went to Divine Saviour Primary School, in Broomfield Rise, on Thursday morning (November 28).

Mr Harrington presented the 26 pupils with their school council badges in an assembly. He also spoke to students about his job as Watford's MP, the electoral system and democracy.

The school council is made up of a boy and a girl from each year group who are elected by their peers.

Watford Observer:

Year 6 representatives take on special roles such as treasurer, secretary and chairman of the council.

Mr Harrington, who was at the school for about an hour, also answered questions from the children about his job.
