Students from Bushey have won national awards for their oustanding work on maths and English programmes.

The Advanced Student Roll (ASR) awards ceremony was attended by 55 children from the Bushey Arches Kumon Study Centre, who were honoured for their success and continued development studying on the Kumon maths and English programmes.

The students were presented with awards to celebrate their achievement of mastering maths and English beyond their current school level.

Over 100 local friends and family members attended, along with the Mayor of Hertsmere Councillor Paul Morris.

Kumon is the UK’s largest supplementary education provider, offering unique maths and English programmes to children of all ages and abilities.

Gemma Holmes, Kumon educational community and PR Manager, said: "The ASR ceremony represents a key stage in the award winners’ Kumon journey.

"By studying regularly and progressing steadily through the programme, these students have reached a significant stage and their instructor and parents will be incredibly proud.

"At Kumon, we believe that a student’s potential is limitless and these children exemplify the independent self-learners that Kumon aims to nurture."

The Bushey Arches Study Centre holds classes on Mondays and Saturdays. The centre supports over 100 local children who are gaining confidence and independent study skills as a result of studying the Kumon programmes.
