Two founding members of a Watford public speaking club have gained a much coveted award.
Valerie Barnes-Lewis and Sandra Lawes have been given the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award, which is the highest level of recognition awarded by Toastmasters International.
Sandra Lawes said: "As far as we know, there is only one other person in the whole of Hertfordshire who has reached this level.
"By the way, we are not the people who wear red jackets and tell people their meals are served. I can’t count the number of times I have had to explain that."
