The intu Watford gift wrapping extravaganza launched this week and is set to support 22 charities over 22 days up until Christmas.

Every day in the run up to Christmas, including Christmas Eve, the wrapping station will play host to a different charity on the upper mall between Marks & Spencer and Next, to fundraise while helping shoppers get ready for the big day.

Charities taking to the wrapping station include Dragon’s Apprentice Schools scheme raising money for DRUM, Home Start & Playskill. Other charities include British Heart Foundation, Mencap, New Hope Trust, Alzheimer's Society, Youth Cancer Trust, Peace Hospice Care, NSPCC and Careers in Herts.

Leigh Brooks, Marketing Manager for intu Watford, said: "We kicked off our Christmas activity last month with a light switch on that celebrated local heroes, so a charity gift wrapping extravaganza is the perfect way to continue our focus on Watford’s community spirit."

Shoppers will also be entertained by Christmas carols and music throughout the festive season, raising money for a number of charities, including Oxfam and the Salvation Army.
