Two men have been arrested in connection with a burglary in West Watford.

The pair were stopped by police in Durban Road West at around 4am on Monday, November 25. One, Aseb Khan, 31, of Durban Road West, has since been charged with burglary, which occurred in Durban Road East between Sunday 24 November and Monday 25 November.

He was also charged with handling stolen goods.

A 41-year-old man from Watford was arrested on suspicion of the same burglary and has been released on police bail until January 6.

Detective Inspector Marcus Bromley said: "We will continue to carry out covert and uniformed patrols across Watford in order to keep residents safe and prevent burglary, which tends to increase at this time of the year.

"We’d ask residents to remain vigilant to this crime and take note of essential security advice, such as using timer switches on lamps to give the impression somebody is at home, particularly in the afternoon when it starts to get dark."
