Watford Observer: Bushey pupils take part in firefighters' thermal imaging exercise Bushey pupils take part in firefighters' thermal imaging exercise

Year 7 pupils from Queens’ school in Bushey visited Watford Fire Station this week to receive a thermal imaging camera to use in their science department.

On Tuesday, 14 Year 7 science club students visited the station wearing replica kits, and participated in a training exercise where they worked together to find fire fighters hiding in the training building.

Using a technique known as the ‘firefighters shuffle’ and the thermal imaging cameras, students entered the building in groups and had to search for missing people.

Pritam Vekaria at the school said: "Queens' School and all of its science team which includes teachers, technicians and pupils are incredibly grateful for the amazingly kind Watford Fire Brigade, we will all use the thermal imaging camera to enhance our teaching and learning."
