Members of an over-60s club in Bushey enjoyed a festive feast and musical entertainment at their Christmas party last Thursday.

The group, which meets at St Peter’s Church hall, in High Road, once a month, ate a traditional Christmas dinner, prepared free-of-charge by volunteers at the nearby Spire Bushey Hospital.

Students from St John’s Church of England School, in Stanmore, sang carols and Christmas songs to the 66 members of the club who turned out for the luncheon.

The afternoon was capped off with a raffle of gifts donated by a number of local shops, meaning meant every member went home with a prize.

Organiser, Lindsey Matthews, said: "We had a great afternoon, the food was fantastic, the children sang beautifully and everyone went home with a present and lots of happy memories.

"We really appreciate the generous contribution from Spire Hospital and local businesses."
