A children’s centre has received a toy donation from a company who employ more than 200 people at their Leavesden head offices.

The toy donation, from Watford’s Brighthouse, included books, educational resources, and outdoor play equipment, all of which was collected by Brighthouse staff and delivered by Chief Executive Leo Mckee on Friday.

Mr Mckee said that he was "delighted" to be able to help the Leavesden Children’s Centre, and that the toys would once again find a loving home.

The toys were donated as part of Watford MP Richard Harrington’s Toy Appeal, which asked local people to dig out any old or unwanted toys to be given to local children’s centre.

Most centres in the Watford area operate toy libraries, where families can take home toys as well as them being used during play and learning sessions.

Richard Harrington MP said: "Children’s Centre’s are at the very heart of our community and they do an absolutely incredible job, one I really cannot praise highly enough."
