Hertfordshire County Council cash grant means CCTV for crime hotspot, Stud Green in Garston

CCTV cameras are set to be installed around a crime hotspot in Garston due to a council cash grant.

Hertfordshire County Council has given £2,000 to have the cameras set up around Stud Green because Hertfordshire Constabulary have received high levels of calls regarding anti-social behaviour and burglaries in the area in the past.

The money has come from the council locality budget scheme.

I used to play around there when I was a kid and it was always a nice place, anti social children equals anti social parents!
They are responsible for them so they should be accountable!

Call me nostalgic, but there was a time that the local beat bobby would have known exactly who these kids were, their parents and where they lived. Even if the copper didn't witness an incident he'd know right away who was responsible and what is more the kids would know he'd know.

A knock on the door interrupting Corrie when Mum was watching it over her dinner to ask a few questions about little Jonny's movements that day was normally enough to steer him a little straighter.

I suppose those days are long gone, if they ever really existed.

Funny, I wasn't even talking about your area but mine. But it goes to show we both remember those times. My bobby was PC Moxley. I suspect I could have easily outrun him had I needed or wanted to, but so what? He knew my Dad so there would be no point.
