There was a double celebration at Greenbanks Care Home, in Greenbank Road, Watford, on Saturday.
Residents enjoyed the care home’s annual Christmas party and at the same time celebrated Greenbanks being named winner of the Runwood Group’s "Best Home" Regional Award the previous day.
Most of the 60 plus residents, together with loved ones and well-wishers came to join the celebration party. VIPs in attendance included Councillor George Derbyshire, the vice chair from the Watford Borough Council, Ramersh Parmar from Lions Clubs International, and Mr. Tesh Seeratun, the Regional Care Director of Runwood Homes.
Care Home Manager Florence Gamino said: "We have probably had one of our most successful Christmas parties for years.
"All the people attending were enjoying themselves with the entertainment, the food, and the raffle prizes.
"We are happy to announce that £800 has also been raised from this party and this fund will be used for future outings and functions for the residents at Greenbanks.
"To all concerned, we want to say a very big thank you and wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy 2014."
