More than £4,000 has been raised for charity by the mayor of Watford’s Christmas card.
The card was sponsored by local businesses and featured a festive robin.
Mayor Dorothy Thornhill received the design in the post but did not know who the artist was. After an appeal in the Watford Observer, the card was found to have been painted by Sylvia Hatch.
Ms Thornhill said: "Sylvia took the trouble of sending her lovely painting to me and I thought that it would be an ideal image to feature on my charity card for 2013.
"All the money raised will go to Disability Watford which is the town’s access group.
"They give information, provide services and campaign towards equal access to services and buildings for people with a disability."
The card was sponsored by Warner Bros Studios Leavesden, intu Watford, Watford Football Club, Brasier Freeth, Humphrey’s Data Management Ltd, West Herts Golf Club, Imagine, Schuco, Freedom, The Prince of Bengal and Sigma Pharmaceuticals.
