A Kings Langley teenager has been named Young Handbag Designer of the Year by the UK’s largest fashion festival.

Clothes Show Live has unveiled the winners of its Creative Awards Programme for 2013 and Nadine Acquaah, 15, has won the title for her handbag designs.

Miss Acquaah said: "I am feeling very overwhelmed. This is really going to help me and has brought me one step closer to my dream job."

The awards were judged by Clothes Show Live’s Educational Ambassador and Fashion Commentator Caryn Franklin, celebrity stylist Karl Willett and Managing Director of Haymarket Exhibitions Gavin Brown, who all had the task of reviewing hundreds of entries from students at schools, sixth forms, colleges and universities from around the UK.

Caryn Franklin said: "We had literally hundreds of entries across all of the categories and what was apparent from every entry we looked at is that the standard of talent in this competition grows every year.

"We were really impressed with the skill and quality of all the submissions, making this a very hard awards programme to judge and all of the winners should be immensely proud of their achievements.

"Winning one of these awards, can help to launch people’s careers and every winner should use this as a platform from which to go on to even bigger and better things."
