An Abbots Langley charity, which supports adults with learning disabilities, enjoyed their annual Christmas meal last week.

The event was held in the Royal Oak pub, in Kitters Green, on Monday, December 9, when The Monday Club celebrated substantial donations from local organisations and residents.

Watford Community Housing Trust donated £500 towards the Christmas meal, while Jeremy and Tony Wilkins, supporters of the charity, put forward £570 for the remainder of the costs.

John Fisher, The Monday Club, said: "We celebrated the end of our 26th year as a charity for people with learning difficulties. Over those years a lot of really fantastic people have walked through our doors - our members and helpers and all the people that have donated time and money to help us be where we are today.

"This year has been a fantastic year for raising money for the club, our best year ever."
