Watford's mayor, Dorothy Thornhill, joined representatives from Peace Hospice Care for the official lights switch-on in a north Watford shopping parade, on Saturday.
Around 70 people gathered outside the Peace Hospice Care shop to see the lights being turned on in the Tudor Shopping Parade, in Bushey Mill Lane.

People the enjoyed carols, mulled wine and mince pies following the switch on and then donations were made to the charity by residents and the Tudor Arms Pub.
Money for the Christmas lights came from Hertfordshire County Council's locality budget.
