Police have released CCTV pictures of two men following a series of distraction thefts targeting elderly people in Watford town centre.

Hertfordshire Constabulary said the three thefts took place outside a bank in High Street and over the last month and involved the victims being distracted while their bank card is taken.

The stolen bank cards have then been used to make purchases.

PC Priya Patel, who is investigating the thefts, said: "I am very keen to speak to the two men pictured as they may have witnessed the thefts or have information that is vital to the investigation.

"If you recognise the men, or if you recognise yourself, please contact me immediately.

Watford Observer:

"I would also like to remind everyone, and particularly the elderly, to be vigilant when using ATM machines. Always shield your pin from view and be aware of anyone who is in the immediate vicinity.

"If you have a family member or friend who is elderly, please do pass on this advice."

Anyone with information is being asked to contact PC Patel via the Hertfordshire Constabulary non-emergency number 101 citing crime reference C1/13/5604.
