Hundreds of people have been left without water in a Kings Langley development after a water pipe burst.

Fire crews were called to flooding in the car park in Ovaltine Court, off Station Road, at 10.58am today.

An Affinity Water spokesman said: "We are aware of a burst on a private, joint supply pipe at Ovaltine Court, Kings Langley.

Water companies have a legal responsibility for maintaining pipework up to the boundary of the road or footpath where a water main is located.

“Leaks and bursts on customer supply pipes and internal plumbing is the owner’s responsibility to repair.

“It is our understanding that the Residents Association of Ovaltine Court, made up of tenants who live in the building, have arranged to repair the burst on their supply pipe.”

Firefighters were called a second time at 12.01pm to at a home in Rockliffe Avenue, where firefighters had to isolate the water supply due to concerns over water leaking through a light fitting.
