Watford Observer: Watford nursery receives childcare award Watford nursery receives childcare award

The Co-operative Childcare nursery in Watford Junction Station has been crowned nursery of the year at the annual Co-operative Childcare awards.

The awards, which took place at the NEC in Birmingham, recognised nurseries which have achieved outstanding results and demonstrated excellent relationship building skills.

The Station Road nursery received the accolade based on its consistently positive feedback from parents.

Nursery manager, Sarah Hurn, said: "It is fantastic that we have been awarded the nursery of the year for the London North area.

This is a big achievement for the team who consistently work hard to ensure we provide the best possible learning environment for our children.

"We pride ourselves on our high standards of nursery care and being recognised with this award is a brilliant way to end, what has been a highly successful year for our team."

The nursery, which cares for children from three months to five years of age, has a large outside play area with climbing frames and an undercover play area which enables the children to play outside in all weather conditions.

As a fellow Co-operator, I would like to add my congratulations to the award presented to the Watford Junction Station Co-operative Childcare Nursery.
I note that they are organised by the same co-operative group I obtain my Co-operative Energy from and that parents can have much more of a say in how their children are looked after, even potentially becoming Directors of the group if they wish that. Really good !!
I wish them all - children, parents and nursery-workers - well in 2014.
