Hairdresser Tia Bishop, who works at Clipso in Queens Road, Watford, has won an award for her work for the Hope for Children charity.

Ms Bishop was presented with her award by celebrity television hairdresser and Fellowship for British Hairdressing President, Errol Douglas, at the Fellowship for British Hairdressing Luncheon and Awards ceremony at The Dorchester Hotel in London last week.

The master hair consultant at Clipso won the award for her dedication and determination to raise awareness and money for the Hope for Children charity.

She set up her Challenge 30 to raise £5,000 for the charity, her aim being to complete 30 challenges at the age of 30.

Ms Bishop began in May 2012 and raised £4,585.34 by May 2013 for the charity.

She is still collecting outstanding money, which will push her past her £5,000 goal.

Hope for Children (HOPE) is a UK based charity which campaigns for children’s rights and aims to help them are realise their full potential. They actively identify disadvantaged children and communities by working with local partners.

Ms Bishop said: "I can’t believe I won and I am extremely proud to be given the award for the work I undertook for the Hope for Children, which is an amazing charity.

"The things I completed and sacrificed for one year at the age of 30 was very challenging but the money I raised was worth it and to be recognised with an award is a great feeling."
