In May the National Animal Welfare Trust in Tylers Way held its “most successful” annual May Fayre Open Day.
This year’s event, which ran from noon until 4pm, raised just over £9,676, with more than 800 people in attendance.
A huge flag in memory of a Watford FC superfan was hoisted onto the town hall.
Steve Brister, an avid Hornets fan for 50 years, died in September 2010, after battling cancer.
A flag to honour him was flown outside the town hall as Watford FC battled for a chance to play in the Premier League.
June
June saw the Bilderberg Group hold its annual meeting in Watford, attracting hundreds of protesters.
Imagine Watford, an outdoor arts festival, this year featured a mattress dance where five acrobats from France launched themselves into their air from trampolines.
In a similarly acrobatic vein, skateboard lessons were also held at the town’s skate park in June.
July
Holli McCann found herself leaving a school trip to the Isle of Wight early after breaking a rule about eating chocolate in the hotel.
Students at Divine Saviour School got inside a 3D atlas for a unique geography lesson.
August
In August David Cameron visited Watford to promote cycling, and Croxley Green’s annual skate-jam took place in Baldwins Lane.
