An appeal has been launched against Three Rivers’ decision to issue an enforcement notice for the removal of a Rickmansworth building’s roof terrace.
Applicant, Robert Hunter, has submitted an appeal to the secretary of state opposing the district council’s enforcement notice against Hunter Lodge Design, in High Street.
Politicians rejected a retrospective planning application for the building’s roof terrace last year.
Among the reasons for the application’s refusal were that the roof terrace, consisting of skylight, access hatch and decking, was an “incongruous and prominent form of development which fails to preserve or enhance the character and the streetscene”.
An enforcement notice was issued for the removal of the terrace.
Mr Hunter has submitted the appeal, which will be dealt with in written representations.
